What is different of Planetary ball mill and Roller ball mill

The difference between planetary ball mill and drum ball mill is mainly reflected in the operation principle,

application field and functional characteristics.

Operation principle:

A planetary ball mill is equipped with four ball mills on a turntable. When the turntable rotates, the ball mill

rotates with the turntable. At the same time, the ball mill itself is driven by the central axis to move in

planetary motion under the drive of the gear. The grinding balls in the jars make irregular movements at high

speed to produce impact, shear and grinding forces, so as to achieve the purpose of grinding and mixing

samples. Planetary ball mills can crush and mix products of different particle sizes and materials by dry and

wet methods. It has high efficiency and great performance. The minimum particle size of the grinding

product can be as small as 0.1 micron or even nanometer level.

The transmission shaft of the drum mill rolls at high speed under the power of the motor, and the

polyurethane rubber roller on the transmission shaft also drives the ball mill to roll. ‌Inside the ball mill, the

material and the grinding balls generate huge energy under the action of gravity, impact and friction. It is

this energy that makes the material form a good and uniform crushing effect. It can also be used for mixing,

homogenizing and polishing of materials. ‌

Application fields: ‌

Planetary ball mills are widely used in geology, mining, metallurgy, electronics, building materials, ceramics,

chemicals, light industry, medicine, environmental protection and other departments. They are suitable for

the production of metal ceramics, hard alloys, electronic ceramics, structural ceramics, magnetic materials,

lithium cobalt oxide, lithium manganese oxide, catalysts, phosphors, long afterglow luminescent powder, rare

earth polishing powder, electronic glass powder, fuel cells, zinc oxide varistors, piezoelectric ceramics,

nanomaterials and other products. ‌

Drum ball mills are widely used in industrial powder production in various fields and research and teaching

sample development. They can be infinitely adjusted in speed, forward and reverse operation, intermittent

operation, and timing. ‌

Functional features: ‌

The planetary ball mill is small in size, full in functions, high in efficiency and low in noise. It is an ideal

equipment for scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, and corporate laboratories to obtain

research samples. It can be equipped with a vacuum ball mill to grind samples under vacuum. ‌

The drum mill achieves uniform crushing and mixing of materials through its unique rolling and rotating

method. It is suitable for various occasions that require fine grinding and mixing. ‌
